Will Hill is a designer and typographer,
and have been involved in teaching graphic design and related subjects at
Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge since 1993. Prior to that he worked in
London for about 17 years as a freelance illustrator, designer, typographer and
design consultant. His personal and professional practice, research, and
much of his teaching, centers upon typography, letters, and the visual form of
language.
He is the author of The Complete
Typographer (3rd Edn) Thames and Hudson 2010, and co-author of Art and Text
(Black Dog 2009) and contributed to Font, the sourcebook (Black Dog 2008) and
the Phaidon Compendium of Graphic Design. He teaches on the BA Graphic
Design and also contribute to teaching on the BA Illustration, MA Children’s
Book Illustration, MA Printmaking and MA Publishing, and will head a new MA
program in Graphic Design and Typography for a first intake Since 2012.His prints have been exhibited at the Plus Design
festival, Birmingham 2007, Clare Hall Gallery, Cambridge 2009, and Ruskin
Gallery, Cambridge 2010, and published in Ultrabold (UK) and The New Handmade
Graphics.
